At a time when fashion shows are breaking grounds in big cities like Guwahati along with other towns, one would wonder as why the beautiful fashion loving people of Amsai Pera (West Karbi Anglong) has been deprived. So that’s why for the first time Amsai Pera has jumped into the fashion scenario and that also with a bang but without keeping aloof their tradition.

"The Wild Lalungs" unit had taken the first initiative to showcase the Tiwa traditional attire through a traditional fashion show held on April 12th at Amsai Pera. A decent crowd witnessed the fashion show where 40 models walked the ramp with both traditional and modern Tiwa dress “Phaskai-Kashong/Tagla-Thana” for the Title competition - "Mr. & Miss. Tiwa 2018".

Most of models were first timers but the well choreographed show was good enough to attract any professional photographers and videographers. The elder crowds were proud to see the younger generation putting on the Kashong/Tagla and mothers also encouraged their daughters to walk the ramp.

THE WILD LALUNGS

• Introduction:
  
  ''The Wild Lalungs'' is an Indian film production unit, investment and distribution company working for Tiwa (Lalung) community films in the state of Assam & Meghalaya. Along with that 'The Wild Lalungs' has also organized and sponsored the ''Mr. & Miss Tiwa" (A Tiwa fashion show) yearly title competition and it's first season was held on 12th April 2018 at West Karbi-Anglong.

  'The Wild Lalungs' production unit was founded by Sumir Dewri (Damlong). According to the 1st class in Regional Government Film and Television Institute (RGFTI), Dewri introduced himself as belong to Tiwa community. Then the lecturer advised him to make a Tiwa film after completing his diploma in film because the Tiwa community contribution in films is nothing and nobody has taken the taste of Tiwa films at all. As Dewri belong to the North-East region, India, where most people attracts by their cultural diversity and the beautiful greenery nature, he got inspired by his lecturers since 2011 to make a Tiwa film and started to do a field study from 2012. As on 2013 he started to make a script in Tiwa language based on true incidents, than in the year of 2014, a small unit known as 'The Wild Lalungs' was formed permanently.

  Cholôma (English: Birth) (Assamese: চ'লমা) is a Tiwa feature film directed and produced by Sumir Dewri Damlong under the banner of 'The Wild Lalungs', which shall be the first Tiwa film to be certified by the CBFC (Central Board of Film Certification).
